Photoshoot & Event Makeup Prep Guide
Whether you're stepping in front of the camera or heading into a night to remember, your makeup experience should feel just as special as the occasion itself. At Foxy Glamour, we believe makeup is more than a finishing touch—it’s a celebration of your presence, your power, and your personality.
This guide was lovingly created to help you get the most out of your session. Whether it’s a maternity shoot, birthday glam, or just a well-deserved “treat yourself” moment, a little prep goes a long way.
01. SKIN PREP – YOUR GLOW BEGINS HERE
The Day Before:
- Hydrate. Drink plenty of water so your skin looks plump and fresh.
- Gently exfoliate. Buff away dry patches for a smoother, more even makeup application. (No harsh scrubs, please!)
- Avoid new skincare. Now’s not the time to test that trendy peel—stick to products your skin already knows and loves.
The Morning Of:
- Arrive with clean, moisturized skin. No makeup, no SPF, and no mascara. Just a fresh, happy face.
- Brows should be groomed. Tweezed, waxed, or shaped a day or two before if needed.
- If we’re styling your hair: Please come with clean, fully dry hair with minimal product.
02. SESSION-DAY ESSENTIALS
- Wear a top that’s easy to remove. Button-ups, robes, or wide necklines work best to protect your makeup when changing.
- Have inspiration photos handy. If you have a vision, I’d love to see it! Otherwise, we’ll create something magical together.
- Let me know about any allergies or sensitivities in advance, so I can tailor your glam with care.
- Relax and enjoy. This is your moment. I’ll handle the details—you just show up and shine.
03. OPTIONAL (BUT RECOMMENDED!)
- Facial hair removal: Dermaplaning, waxing, or shaving 1–2 days before can help makeup lay flawlessly.
- Lip prep: Use a gentle scrub and moisturizing balm the night before for smooth, plump lips.
- Lashes? Always. All services include complimentary false lashes—choose between individual clusters or a full strip for that perfect flutter.
